Reunited with My Ex-Boyfriend on an Idol Survival Show - CHAPTER 15

How did it feel to prepare a song from your former company? The sharp question froze Seha in place. He slowly turned his head toward Dohyuk, who held a script in his hand. Sure enough, Dohyuk gently shook the script when their eyes met, confirming that it wasn't an impromptu question, but one prepared in advance by the production team. It was likely a question designed to highlight him as an independent trainee from ON Entertainment for editing purposes. 'I need to answer this well.' Having been given this opportunity, he couldn't afford to waste it. Seha swallowed hard and slowly raised the microphone, his hand trembling visibly even from a distance. "First of all... I was incredibly honored to cover a song by my seniors at ON Entertainment, whom I've always respected. And, and..." Seha, momentarily speechless, glanced around at his teammates to buy himself some time. They were all focused on comforting Yoon Youngjae, who was sobbing uncontrollably, payin...

1. Human Playroom - Shall We Ride the Rocking Horse?

A peaceful afternoon in Selene.
A gentle voice echoed softly in the vast, open space devoid of any warmth.
"Nabi."
[......]
Even at his call, Nabi remained silent, trembling.
Hiding behind the armrest of the sofa where Cairoden was sitting, with only his hair peeking out, he seemed determined not to be seen, and the stifled sobs escaping his lips revealed the depth of his fear in this situation.
"Nabi?"
[......sniff ]
"Nabi."
It was a name Cairoden had personally given him and called out countless times since, so even if the language was different, he clearly understood that "Nabi" was referring to him. Yet, he remained stubbornly uncooperative.
"Hmm."
Does he not like the name?
But he heard that humans called their beloved ones "Nabi" and cherished them.

In Korean, "nabi" (나비) means "butterfly". It is also used as a term of endearment for a cat, similar to "kitty".

Of course, this was a misunderstanding stemming from someone spreading false information after seeing humans casually calling any stray cat "Nabi." Cairoden, who had never been to Earth, had no way of knowing the truth.

"Nabi," Den called out, refusing to give up, as he patted the sofa. It had already been two weeks since he started raising his pet human. Normally, they would have adapted within a week, but his human still trembled like this. After observing him for several days, he concluded that he was simply more timid than other humans.

He could have summoned a staff member to train him or even manipulate his mind to mold him to his liking, but he chose not to. It wasn't too late to establish control; he could still win him over by befriending him from now on. As his first pet human, he wanted to personally teach him everything from scratch, guiding Nabi to follow him completely.

"Nabi, look over here."
Tap-tap

Den gently tapped and scratched the sofa with his long fingertips, as if playing a game. Finally, curiosity piqued, Nabi glanced in the direction of the sound. Still hiding behind the armrest, with only his head slightly raised, he probably thought he was invisible. But Den, who could see through simple objects, had a clear view of his adorable face.

"Ah, so cute..."

No matter how many times he saw it, his face was still beautiful. If he had burned the gift box his friend suddenly sent him without opening it, he would have burned Dr. Dok to death without ever getting a good look at that face.
Dr. Dok: The author

He moved his hand, secretly glad that he had opened the box.
Tap-tap-tap

"It's almost naptime, Nabi. Time to cuddle with Daddy."

The fluid movements of his fingers, as if playing the piano, and his gentle voice were perfect for luring the young human. His Nabi, hiding behind the sofa, was sobbing helplessly. Judging by the way his delicate eyes were scrunched up, it seemed like he didn't like the way he kept swaying, as if in a trance.

[What's are you saying...? Sob Just leave me alone...]

"Or are you bored? Nabi, do you want to play with Daddy some more?"

Just moments ago, he had endured quite a tough time with Nabi. He barely managed to feed Nabi, who had been whining and refusing to eat, and then bath his body that was messy from flinging all the food around, leading to a second round of chaos in the bathroom.

After such a commotion, Nabi would usually collapse from exhaustion and fall asleep. But today, he showed no signs of sleepiness. Could it be because he woke up later than usual?
He never forgot that humans are creatures of habit, and he worried deeply about disrupting Nabi's routine. Of course, he also felt a pang of disappointment, knowing that naptime was the only time Nabi would peacefully cuddle in his arms.

"Hmm... what to do?"

Cairoden chuckled softly and moved his hand. He gently clenched and released his grip in the air, as if grasping something invisible, and suddenly a stuffed rabbit appeared in his palm.

"What's this? Hmm? My dear Nabi, why don't you take a look at what Daddy's holding?"

The stuffed doll was Nabi's attachment plushy, personally brought by Cairoden. It was an essential item for those raising pet humans. It was meant to help humans who struggled to adapt to Selene's environment find comfort by giving them dolls shaped like Earth-dwelling animals.

"Look, Nabi's friend!"

The doll was slightly smaller than Nabi, who stood at 176 cm tall. Even among attachment plushies, which were typically designed to be small enough for humans to cuddle, this one was relatively large. To Cairoden, who stood nearly three meters tall, it was merely a light bundle of cotton.

"Remember? We had so much fun playing with the rabbit yesterday too."

Tap. With a simple gesture, Den flicked the rabbit doll's bottom. The doll gently landed on the floor, stood upright on its hind legs, and began walking steadily toward Nabi.
Tap-tap-tap.

The cotton-stuffed doll soon peeked around the sofa armrest, revealing itself to Nabi, who was hiding behind it.

[Eek!]

Nabi jumped up in fright and immediately fell backward. His legs seemed to have given way, leaving him frozen stiff and unable to move. Den found his pitiful state so endearing that he manipulated the doll to gently tap Nabi's knee and help him stand.

"Aww, the rabbit gave Nabi a hug?"

[H-uh, uh...]

Nabi, held upright by the button-eyed doll, trembled as he received a kiss from the doll. Tears welled up in his terrified eyes.

Attachment dolls were excellent companions for humans, even aiding in socialization training, so fostering familiarity was beneficial. Recalling the advice from the Pet Human Parenting Guide, Cairoden smiled warmly and spoke in a gentle voice.

"Did you get a kiss from your friend? I think Rabbit wants to play with Nabi. You should say, 'Good boy,' and pat him."

[Hic...]
But Nabi let out a strangled sound, shoved the doll away, and fled—toward Den, whom he had previously avoided.

Whump! Unable to climb onto the high sofa, Butterfly clung to Den's leg, tears streaming down his face. Waaah... he sobbed, pulling at his pant leg with all his might, looking every bit the spoiled child.

[Get that thing away from me! It's scary, ugh, waaaah... Don't shove that thing at me, you bastard!]

"Nabi, what's wrong? Don't you want to play with the rabbit?" Den asked, stroking his hair to calm him down. But as the rabbit began to hop toward him, Nabi panicked, jumping up and down like a child throwing a tantrum.

[Eek! No! Pick me up! Pick me up now!]

"Oh dear..."

Cairoden couldn't ignore Nabi, who was sobbing and reaching out to him. He lifted his small body and settled him on his lap. He knew that giving in to his every whim would spoil him, but he couldn't help but find his increasingly clingy behavior endearing.

"Why is my Nabi acting like this again? You were playing so happily with the rabbit yesterday."

[Sniffle, waaaah... I don't wanna, I don't wanna...]

Nabi was throwing this tantrum precisely because of what had happened yesterday, but Cairoden had no way of knowing his true feelings. Cairoden sat up straight and sternly addressed Nabi, hands on his abs. "Ahem!"

"You keep throwing tantrums, stealing Daddy's clothes... My little one, is that okay? No, it's not."

[Waaah... you, you're such a fucking bastard...]

Rejecting the clothes he offered, Nabi had once again stolen his bathrobe.  Sobbing bitterly, Nabi scrubbed his eyes with both hands. A torrent of insults erupted from himfucking bastard, dog-shit son of a bitch, and more—but Cairoden, oblivious to Nabi's resentment, chuckled softly and reached out. He playfully covered his plump lips with his hand, then withdrew it with a teasing tap-tap-tap-tap.

[Uwaa-bababap, ababap...]

Euaang...his mouth kept getting blocked every time he's about to burst into cry, letting out comical sounds. He scowled fiercely and thrashed around. The oversized clothes, tailored to Den's larger frame, dragged on the floor, only amplifying his adorable appearance.

[Stop it!]

"Heh heh. So cute."

Nabi, who had been irritated as she shoved away the large hand off his lips, paused for a moment when he saw Den's face, now laughing out loud.
His otherworldly features didn't seem to belong to this world.
Well, he is an alien, so technically he isn't from this world...

[Ugh, you're so annoying... sniff What's the point of having a handsome face if you're just going to torment people like this...?]

"Huh? Look over there, Nabi. The rabbit wants to be friends with you."

[What? Why again...? Ugh!]

The grotesque rabbit doll had crept up unnoticed and was now staring at Nabi from under the sofa with a subtle gaze. Ever since the incident during their "playtime" last night, Nabi had come to loathe stuffed animals. He clung tightly to Den, burying his face against his broad chest and refusing to move.

"Do you want to play with Daddy instead of the rabbit?"

[You bastard... sniff Just die already...]

"You're being so cute and affectionate."

Den's face melted into a brilliant smile as Nabi rubbed his cheek against his shirt, purring affectionately. Of course, Nabi was merely rubbing his face because he had nowhere else to wipe his tears, but to Den, it was utterly adorable.

What's wrong with spoiling him a little? He's just too cute. After treating him like an enemy all this time, Nabi suddenly rushed into his arms, even acting affectionate. He's just so lovely and cute.

Kiss

[Eep!?]

Cairoden, who had been leaning back lazily against the headrest, pressed a kiss to Nabi's cheek. Nabi's eyes widened as if he'd been attacked out of nowhere, and straightened his back stiffly.

[W-what...?]

His face, now pale and frozen, was breathtakingly beautiful, not just from Den's perspective but objectively as well. His bright eyes that are slightly upturned at the corners, perfectly plump lips, and delicately rounded nose and ears.

The features packed so neatly on his small face made him look as lovely as a doll, and the two tear-shaped beauty marks near his eye added an air of mystique to his aura.

"Haha, you're surprised."

Cairoden chuckled softly as he pinched Nabi's other cheek, watching him stare up at him in a daze, his hand still pressed against the cheek he had kissed. Unable to resist the feel of his soft skin against his fingers, he soon began to knead his small buttocks.

[Ah....!]

When the Pet Human, barely over 175 centimeters tall, was perched on Cairoden's thigh, his line of sight was still far below his. Even the round butt he was kneading were so small they fit entirely in his palm with room to spare, forcing Cairoden to carefully control his grip to avoid crushing his delicate frame.

[This pervert! Where do you think you're touching?! Eek! Let go!]

"Daddy will play with Nabi right away. I didn't know Nabi had so much energy!"

[I said let go! Now! ... Gasp.]

Nabi, who had been pounding Den's arm with his soft, cotton-like fists, suddenly froze like a wet cat.

He felt something on the man's thigh he was sitting on swelling heavily.

[...?!]

"Hmm?"

Even at home, the man maintained his ascetic appearance, wearing a suit vest and tie. His weapon-like physique hidden beneath his clothes.

Nabi felt the burning heat pressing against his bottom and the sweet kisses raining down on his stiff cheek. The man's large, thick body was so different from his own. Nabi trembled, avoiding the man's gaze as he gripped his waist tightly.

[You, you, w-why are you doing this again...?]

"Haa, you're so cute. Really..."

[W-what are you trying to do? Mmph, hic! Ungh!]

Hic! As Nabi, who was trembling so hard his teeth chattered, started hiccuping, the silver-haired handsome man watching him burst into laughter. He whispered to the human pushing against his arm, "My Nabi, let's go to the playroom with Daddy?"

At those words, Nabi froze completely, stopping all movement.

Playroom. It was one of the few words Nabi understood.

["......"]

"Hm?"

Nabi, unaware of how tightly he was gripping the man's forearm, simply stared blankly at his face. His wide, fear-filled eyes were now brimming with tears.

[What did you just say...?]

"I was originally planning to take a nap and then leave, but since my Nabi wants to play with Daddy, I guess I have no choice."

[Huh? What did you say...? That's not it right?]

"Let's go to the playroom."
